Wades Pottery, Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent

By Published On: April 2, 2025

The Wades Ceramics Building on Westport Road, Burslem, was built in 1814 and was operational until 2010. The office building (red below) and the adjacent Sunday School Façade have listed building status. Discussions are ongoing at present between our Client, English Heritage and Stoke-on-Trent Council regrading the future development of the site, however one option that we have assisted with cost planning support on is the delivery of a façade retention system and construction of a new community centre. In addition to this circa 65 residential units would also be delivered.

Over recent years the site has suffered from fire damage and vandalism, Cumming Group have assisted by coordinating the installation of security features, sensitive safety demolition works and also the coordination of structural survey / monitoring works.
